Vale John Mewett Life Member

Last Saturday we were advised of the passing of Life Member John Mewett. John had been living in the Philippines for several years after "retiring" from Association activities.

John joined the Association in 1978 and was awarded Life Membership in 1998. During his time with the Association he was heavily involved in the appointment and coaching of referees and held several positions including:

• Social Committee 1979

• Advisory Panel 1979, 1980, 1981

• A Grade Division 1 grand final referee 1982

• Appointments Board 1985, 1989,

• Inter-district Coaching Panel 1981-83, 1989

• Referee's Coordinator 1990-1993, 1996, 1997
