Bob Kandelas Medal 2025
To continue on the Bob Kandelas Medal information, this week we will look at the “Junior Awards”. These awards are recognition for a range of commitments stemming from on field performance, off-field performance and Grand Final Appointments. These awards also recognise the effort they put into each game they officiate.
The Junior awards:
Peter Browne Award is presented to the mini referee of the year
Barry Beveridge Award goes to the mod referee (under 12s Div 1a Grand Rinal Referee)
Phil Sanders Memorial Award goes to the top junior rugby league referee (under 17s Div 1a Grand Final referee)
Len Manuel Rookie of the year is the award that goes to a first year referee that has shown the most impressive performance and potential
Reg Newsome Most improved Junior Referee goes to the junior referee (Saturday football) that has the most improvement in their refereeing that year
Michael Grady Junior Merit Award goes to the referee that puts in every week not only on the field but also off the field and into the community.
These awards are presented on the night to the members acknowledging their efforts and dedication
