Online Course

Much of the Referee Accreditation Course can now be undertaken online, in your own time and at your own pace.

Once you have completed the online portion of the course you will then be required be required to contact the Referees Association (courses@penrithreferees.com.au) and attend in person to complete the course, which would take about three hours. The next face-to-face segment has been scheduled for Saturday 31st March (subject to change) so your online segment should be finished prior to that.

After you completing the online and face-to-face segments of the course you will be recognised as a referee-in-training, and you will be able to referee rugby league matches.  To gain your full accreditation you will need to undergo further coaching by the referees association and receive three satisfactory on-field assessments.

At the completion of the course you will be invited to attend an induction evening where we will outline Association policies and expectations, provide you with uniforms and answer any questions or concerns you (or your parents) may have.  You will also be required to complete membership application forms to allow you to join the Penrith Referees Association and begin refereeing.

You will then be appointed to referee games in the Penrith Junior League area.  We will provide coaching advice and assistance to you as well as complete the on-field assessments required for you to become accredited as a Level One Referee.  You are also encouraged to attend Association training where we can assist with further coaching and skills development.

Succesful candidates who officiate with Penrith Referees Association will recieve complete on-field uniform (with the exception of football boots).
